Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang gave flowers to congratulate the leaders of the Institute of Culture and Development

Reporting on the birth of this journal, Director of the Institute of Culture and Development Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Phuong Hau said that being aware of the importance of a scientific journal to the teaching and research of a specialized institute, the publication of a specialized scientific journal has been nurtured by leaders, lecturers and researcher of the Institute of Culture and Development for a long time. Moreover, during the past long time, generations of staff of the Institute of Culture and Development have gradually joined hands and united to turn that aspiration into reality.

In 2004, with the consent of the Party Committee, the Academy's Board of Directors and the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Culture and Development Newsletter was born. During 18 years, from 2004 to 2022, the Culture and Development Newsletter was persistently published every 3 months. Along with the regular release of the Culture and Development Newsletter, the staff and lecturers of the Institute have also been growing stronger. Many research works of officials and lecturers working at the Institute have been published in scientific forums, books, newspapers and magazines domestically and internationally. Many lecturers have become close collaborators of magazines, especially cultural magazines.

On the other hand, the Institute also has a team of collaborators who are scientists, lecturers, and cultural managers in all provinces and cities across the country. The need for an in-depth, reputable scientific forum to exchange and publish academic, cultural issues and cultural development in Vietnam and around the world becomes urgent, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Phuong Hau emphasized.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Thi Phuong Hau, the turning point of special significance to launch the Journal of Culture Research and Development was when Politburo member, President of the Academy attended and gave his speech at the ceremony to celebrate the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Institute of Culture and Development (in 2019). Among the orientations of building and developing the Institute of Culture and Development he suggested, there was one that the Institute must have a scientific journal.

The Institute of Culture and Development determined that this was both a requirement and a political task assigned to the Institute by the Politburo member and President of the Academy. At the same time, it was also his trust and encouragement to the efforts of the Institute. Therefore, the Institute started a project to launch the Journal of Cultural Research and Development. The project received the support of the Party Committee, the Academy's Board of Directors, relevant units in the Academy, the Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Central Propaganda Department. The Journal of Culture Research and Development under the Institute of Culture and Development was granted the license to operate by the Ministry of Information and Communications No. 404/GP-BTTTT on August 20, 2022.

Congratulating the official launch of the Journal of Culture Research and Development, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang affirmed the event was the result of many efforts, the spirit of overcoming all difficulties, and the commendable initiative and creativity of generations of staff at the Institute of Culture and Development during nearly 40 years of construction and development.

He emphasized that it was not only a memorable,  meaningful event but also a direct and practical contribution of the Institute of Culture and Development in order to promptly reflect the research results on culture and development of the Institute and the science, to plan and implement the cultural and development guidelines throughout the country. It contributes to promoting the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Congress of the Party, the resolutions of the Central Committee and important undertakings and policies of the Party and State in the field of culture and development, thoroughly grasping the view that culture is the spiritual foundation, an important endogenous resource, a breakthrough driving force for the rapid and sustainable development of the country, building an advanced culture imbued with national identity, arousing and promoting Vietnamese cultural values ​​and human strength in the new period.

In order for the Journal of Cultural Research and Development to become a prestigious scientific product, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang suggested that each member of the Journal continue to make more efforts, actively strive, exercise political courage, cultivate expertise and professionalism, strictly comply with the provisions of the law on press and publication, constantly research and innovate, perfect the contents and modes of operation, expand the collaborators, attach great importance to improving the quality of articles, unite together to successfully complete the task.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang believed that, with the efforts and enthusiasm of generations of staff of the Institute of Culture and Development, the Journal of Cultural Research and Development would soon affirm its role and position in the field of research and teaching on culture and development, continue to promote the precious tradition and crystallize the creative intelligence of the Institute of Culture and Development. He expects it to become a prestigious journal, a valuable source of reference material for policy makers, researchers, lecturers and students in culture and other fields, gaining love and trust from readers, worthy of the Party, State and people's expectations for a journal of the Academy named after the great President Ho Chi Minh.
