The extracurricular topic “Improving strategic leadership skills in the public sector” for leaders and managers of Vietnamese government is a capacity fostering program to support in-depth training for future leaders in the public sector and Vietnamese government so that they can better perform their leadership duties in their units. 

Based on lessons learned and feedback from students participating in the extracurricular topic "Strengthening strategic leadership in the public sector" held in 2021 and 2022, RMIT University Vietnam designed and implemented a 3-day extracurricular topic (March 22-24, 2023) on strategic leadership skills in the public sector and 2 extra-curricular topics 1 day (March 27 and 28, 2023) for students of the Advanced Political Theory Program. 

During the program, students are provided by experts with more in-depth knowledge about the role of leadership, supporting students to: Identify and discuss theoretical and practical aspects of contemporary leadership in the context of a rapidly changing and complex world, updating new knowledge and applying it to practice; Learn systematically and centrally about leadership styles and methods, with a focus on making influence at the strategic level in the specific operational and cultural contexts of the public sector; Apply self-criticism and personal self-management skills suitable for transformational leadership; Engage in interactive activities and learn from analyzing the challenges associated with the negotiation and agreement process; Research more about gender equality, disability and social inclusion issues related to leadership in today's context,…
