The book, edited by Prof. Dr. Vu Van Hien, consists of 16 articles focusing on criticizing and refuting wrong and hostile views towards the 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
The book is published in December of 2020 by the Su That (Truth) National Political Publishing House in collaboration with the Scientific Council of the Central Agencies of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
After decades of implementing a hostile but ineffective policy, reactionary forces are changing their way of approach. Their goal is still unchanged, that is to radically deteriorate the political ideology and to abolish the leadership role of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Another goal of the reactionary forces is to "de-politicize" the armed forces, with the hope that it might lead to the abolition of the communist regime and the end of socialism in Vietnam. The arguments of hostile forces mostly focus on some main issues such as: the ideological foundation of the Party (Marxism-Leninism), the guidelines of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the policies of the State, the leading role of the Communist Party of Vietnam. Those issues are regularly mentioned by the reactionaries with distorted points of view, fake news, and incomplete information for the purpose of reducing people’s trust in the Party and inciting in internal divisions within the Party.
The act against wrong and hostile views to protect the ideological foundation of the Communist Party of Vietnam has achieved many important results, but limitations still exist. Those limitations are the incomplete understanding and the lack of profound awareness of the struggle against wrong and hostile views. Sometimes the press failed to maintain their political principles and code of conduct, or failed to determine the critical success factor in the battle against misinformation and fakenews released by the reactionaries. Besides, the way of approach are sometimes irrelevant. The timeliness and the persuasiveness are still weak … The mainstream press and media still lack arguments with high expertise that can thoroughly refute wrong and hostile arguments.
In the time before and after the 13th National Party Congress, it is necessary to conduct scenario analysis and pro-forma projections to determine valid arguments to criticize wrong and hostile views and defend the Party's ideological foundation in an effective and practical way. Stemming from that context, the Truth National Political Publishing House in collaboration with the Scientific Council of the Central Agiencies of the Communist Party of Vietnam published the book “Arguments against wrong and hostile opinions towards the XIII National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam" (Volume 1). The book, edited by Prof. Dr. Vu Van Hien, consists of 16 articles focusing on criticizing and refuting wrong and hostile views towards the XIII National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam. And even after the XIII National Party Congress, the book still demonstrates its value with essential theoretical and practical insights that raise the awareness among Vietnamese people of the fight to protect the Party’s ideological foundation.
The main content of the book is reflected in the following arguments:
- Arguments to criticize views that deny Vietnam’s revolutionary achievements over the past 90 years.
- Arguments to criticize views that Marxism-Leninism is outdated.
- Arguments to criticize views that there is no transition to socialism, so from the XIII National Party Congress onwards, socialism should not be mentioned.
- Arguments to critcize views that the XIII National Party Congress should remove the phrase "ideological foundation" to follow any philosophical ideology that works.
- Arguments to criticize views that the Party’s monopoly of power and the principle of democratic centralism are the biggest obstacles hindering the development of Vietnam.
- Arguments to criticize views that the Communist Party of Vietnam has exhausted its historical role and is no longer capable of leading the country.
- Arguments to criticize views that like the previous congresses, the XIII National Party Congress is still a copy of outdated, conservative theories that lacks innovation and creativity.
- Arguments to criticize views that in Vietnam there is no existence of the State - market - society relationship and hence, there is no possibility of it to be resolved.
