Attending the seminar were experts and scientists from the HCMA and the Australian Embassy in Vietnam. Governor of South Australia Frances Adamson is the keynote speaker at the seminar.
Talking at the seminar, Mrs. Frances Adamson highly appreciated the good cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Australia, based on mutual trust. The establishment of the Vietnam Australia Center at the HCMA to support the training of Vietnamese leaders and managers is a testament to that partnership.
According to Mrs. Frances Adamson, education and training plays an important role in building and fostering the next generation of leaders in order to raise awareness, foster talents and help them nurture ambitions. The Vietnam Australia Center will contribute to providing such capacity building opportunities for Vietnamese leaders and managers.
Delegates attending the seminar
Sharing her own experiences in running the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade for many years as well as in her recent position as Governor of South Australia, Mrs. Frances Adamson focused on three main topics:
(i) leading the state in a vibrant and uncertain international environment, (e.g. the rapid change of technology, the disruption of socio-economic activities due to the Covid-19 pandemic and climate change), the South Australian Government has been successfully transitioning to adapt to change. It is now using renewable energy in 68% of the state’s manufacturing activities.
(ii) The creative and inclusive leadership is always a premise to encourage the participation of all sectors of society, specifically encouraging women to participate in leadership management, encouraging diversity by listening to minority communities or making decisions that best serve the people.
(iii) The relationship between Vietnam and Australia is developing strongly in all fields since the two countries upgraded to a Strategic Partnership in 2018. In the context that the region and the world are facing many challenges, the partnership will make the two countries promote their strengths, take advantage of opportunities and become more stable to contribute to peace and stability in the region./.
